Without even realizing it, you're impressing everyone in the room. There are subtle mannerisms and social cues you give off that you may not even realize you're doing.
For the most part, it's typical that you wouldn't even know you are owning the room with these small gestures, but the more you know, the more you can use these little cues to your advantage.
Don't Stop Smiling
There isn't much more friendly than a happy, and genuine smile. They are said to be contagious, right? That's why when you walk by a stranger, and they smile at you, it's natural instinct to smile back. You can turn someones whole day around by the ease of a smile.
Dress To Impress
You never get a second chance to make a good first impression. That is what my wise uncle always told me prior to a job interview. But, interviews aren't the only place you are being judged by your appearance. Take a little time each morning, and take some pride in the way you look, you never know who's watching.
Mind Your Manners
"Please" and "Thank You" might seem like measles little words, but they pack a huge punch. Being polite shows that you are mindful of the feelings of others. Not only do you appreciate the people you are speaking with, you respect them by using words of gratitude.
Be On Time
If you’re late for something, you’re giving someone the opportunity to judge you without you even being there. If you say you’re going to be somewhere at a certain time, then be there at that time. Waiting for someone when they should already be there is frustrating and annoying.
Make Eye Contact
Engage in the discussion and let the person you are talking to know it. Making eye contact shows you aren't just there to hear yourself talk, but actually listen. Keep eye contact throughout the conversation and try to avoid letting your eyes dance around.
Practice what you preach. If you are passionate about politics, get involved in your local government. If you love gardening, help the community around you by initiating a community garden project.
Laugh It Up
Keep in mind, know your audience on this one. Making an off color joke is more harmful than helpful. However, seeing the humor in tense situations can ease the whole room. Keep it light, and no potentially hurtful jabs.
Respect Your Peers
And by "peers" I mean your friends, elders, family, kids... Respect everyone around you, you never know their story or the day they have had. You can find the good in people, even those you may not agree with, if you look for it.
Get Off Your Phone
When you have the pleasure of being with someone, BE WITH THEM. Put down your phone and enjoy the company you are with.
Be someone people can trust, and trust the people you are with. There is nothing more disrespectful than infidelity.
Respect Personal Hygiene
Respect yourself and take a shower. That also includes wearing deodorant, brushing your teeth, you know, the basics. Sounds like common sense, but talking to someone with foul body odor or bad breathe is a huge turn off. Don't let that person be you.
Sprinkle those things around like they're glitter. Taking time to notice, and point out someones uniqueness, clothes, laugh, work, smile etc., it's noticed and appreciated. Nothing makes people feel more wonderful than a compliment, even from a stranger.
Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone
Try new foods, go somewhere new, make new friends. Enjoy every aspect of life, even the unknown.
See The World
Or your city, or the state, or your neighboring states. The point being, travel. Experience new cultures whenever you can. Soak it in and learn from it.
Keep Yourself Informed
Stay up to date on the news, local and global happenings and the like.
Keep Your Promises
Don't make a promise you can't keep. It really is as simple as that. When you start disappointing people due to the fact that your can't seem to keep up your side of the bargain, people notice. The last thing you want to put off is that you are untrustworthy.
Sacrifice Your Time
Volunteer when you can. And that means more than just on Thanksgiving. Go out there and help those who can't always help themselves.
Respect Your Children
That means their time, their personalities, their need to be children. Respect them like you would respect a friend. Listen when they talk to you. Value their opinion. Be kind to their little and big feelings. Be presenting their lives.
Give A Handshake
I'm a hugger. I hug. So, when you meet someone, greet them with a handshake, or a hug. Look at your situation and determine which would be more appropriate. You hardly want to meet the CEO of your company with a big 'ol bear hug. Give a firm handshake instead.

Spit Out Your Gum
In any professional situation, spit out the gum. Nothing is sloppier than a mouth full of pink bubble gum.
No really, LISTEN. Don't just participate in the conversation while waiting for your turn to talk. No one likes a know-it-all.
Have Thick Skin
Life isn't all unicorns and rainbows. You're feelings will be hurt at some point, whether that is on purpose or by accident. It's ok to be hurt by it, but forgive, learn and move on.
Follow Your Dreams
Be the person that follows your dream in life. Be persistent and make it happen.
Keep A Tidy Car And Home
Keep a clean car, and a clean home. It shows respect for yourself and your surroundings. Kinda like personal hygiene, for all your goodies. After all, you never know who might be catching a ride with you.
Be The Good You Hope To See In The World
That means giving up your seat for someone, holding the door, making dinner for a sick neighbor.
Fess Up When You Make A Mistake
Own up to it. You're human, and we all make mistakes. Be mature, and fess up when you mess up. Come at the problem with a solution and you're more likely to be forgiven.
Focus On The Good
Even when times are tough, it can usually be worse. Focus on the blessings surrounding you, and share the positivity with everyone around you. Be the light and shine. Look for good in people, and you will usually find it.
Now Go To Work
Now that you know all these little cues, you can include them in everything you do. not only will you impress everyone around you, you will be a happier person. It's a win-win if you ask me!
