So... baby got back?
You may hate having such a hard time finding the perfect outfits to cover that backside, but that backside may not be such a bad thing after all. According to a study conducted at the University Of Pittsburgh a babies brain development depends on the fat supply that is coincidently located on their moms butt and thighs. The higher the amount of fat there is in those areas could actually determine and influence a child's intelligence.
Here's the scoop.
William D. Lassek, who was part of the study on waist-hip ratio, told the Pittsburgh City Paper that "Hip and thigh fat is good fat. Women shouldn't feel bad about having it." In fact his study concluded that men are more attracted to this lower waist to hip ratio. The perfect example of this is to look at Jennifer Lopez and her body. That body type is exactly what attracts men and that's exactly the kind of body type that Dr. Lassek claims may impact a child's brain. Therefore most men were attracted to women with a 0.7 waist to hip ratio.
Dr. Lassek's findings concluded that men across different cultures and ethnic groups generally prefer women with a lower waist-hip ratio. But what's so beneficial about this area of the body? A woman's hips are higher in omega-3 fatty acids which aids in brain function for kids. When Dr. Lassek and his partner conducted their study on different women they found that the women with more curviness had children who scored higher on cognitive exams. Omega-3 fatty acids aren't commonly found in a persons diet but it is stored in a woman's hips and thighs which could help to build the baby's brain.
Consider yourself lucky for having that backside - it could attribute to intelligent babies either now or in the future so be proud of your curves and embrace them.
