If you are one of the millions of single Americans out there, you know all about how tricky it can be to find your life partner. So, where is the best place to look? You may be surprised!
I'm willing to bet you know at least one happy couple that met online. In fact, most people believe that meeting online is the most common way to find a mate these days. But, these people would be wrong.
Yep, although online dating is at al all time high, with apps and sites going up left and right (hello, FarmersOnly.com), it is actually not the number one place to find a mate. According to Mic, there are a few hot spots to snag your next date, and quite possibly you spouse.
Ask Your Friends
That same survey suggests that the very first place you should be looking is within your own circle of friends. Okay, maybe it's not a great idea to ask out your bestie, but it might be worth a shot to see if s/he has anyone they think you might be compatible with. Ditch the screen name stress, and got find a real life connection.
Get Out There
The next one up? In a social setting. Time to put on your dancing shoes and get out there and meet people. Pick one of your favorite hobbies (like dancing) and go take some lessons, or hit up the closest salsa club. you may just meet your soul mate. Or at the very least have a ball and get some exercise.

Alright, if ALL of your friends are married, and you twisted your ankle twerking it at the club on singles night, it's time to recruit your coworkers. The third most common place to meet the love of your life is at work. Stop reading right now, get up and make a lap around the office. Go on, I'll wait. Spot anyone of interest?
Install That App
You now have permission to download Match.com, or eHarmony. Less than 10% of couples actually found love on a dating site (although I know a few, and they are madly in love). The great thing about these sites are that they make it easy! Hey, at the very least you know that everyone on there is looking for the same thing that you are, which is awesome!
All we have to do is just glance up from our phone once in a while and look. So, if you're in it for a quick fling, looks like websites and swiping to the right might do the trick, but if you're looking for the long haul its time to take a chance and ask that cute guy in the cubical next to you for a coffee date!
