Barbra Streisand is the kind of talent you only see once in a lifetime. Her career has been active for over 60 years and her awards résumé reads like you opened up a Wikipedia article for List Of All Possible Awards An Entertainer Can Win. She's sold 145 million records during her career and is a household name known by elderly and the youth alike. At 74, Barbra is still performing. She opened her latest concert, the first in four years, with a bit of political controversy.
A Memorable Start To The Show
The singer mused how it seemed like she was always on tour during election seasons. Her concert comes on the heels of both the Republican and Democratic National Conventions which drew millions of viewers. She shared her thoughts on the current state of the election.
"And this one is a doozy, isn't it?"
Barbra then repeatedly threw jabs at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Barbra invited magician and mind reader, Lior Suchard, to perform for the audience. She took a shot at trump during his introduction.
"The only person whose mind he can't read is Donald Trump's, because he doesn't have one. He's putting his foot in his mouth every day now, so I'm so happy."
Later during her set, Barbra, spoke about the genetic makeup of humans being very similar from person to person, which could be a reference to Trump's plan to deport 11 million illegal immigrants, or allegations of racism in Trump's business practices and personal life.
"Our genetic makeup is 99.9 percent identical to every other person on the face of the earth. Isn't that incredible? The other .1 percent is Donald Trump."
Barbra made no attempts to hide which candidate she was throwing her hat in the ring with.
"I hope that in a few months I'll be singing it for the next President Clinton."
Barbra has been an active supporter of the Democratic Party for over 45 years and has performed for John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson and Bill Clinton. She was even listed on Richard Nixon's Enemies List, along with the likes of Jane Fonda, Bill Cosby, Paul Newman and Steve McQueen, as a threat to his administration.

Sticking Her Neck Out
While Barbra is pretty universally loved, taking a hard stance against or for a candidate is a great way to turn some fans into haters. This is nothing new for Barbra, but with such a contentious election cycle, it's likely we'll be hearing more political opinions from celebrities. Celebrities who many not be able to play it quite as cool as Babs.
