McDonald's Gets Into Sign Battle With Liquor Store - Their Message Has Gone Viral

A bit of friendly rivalry between two business owners never hurt anyone. In fact, a couple of Somerville, MA stores are getting free advertising as a result of their funny antics. There's a long-standing "fight" going on between a local McDonald's and the Sav-Mor liquor shop right across the street, and no one's safe from the playful back and forth banter!
The cheeky duo have been airing each other's dirty laundry in plain sight for everyone to see - right on their billboard signs. It was like a chess game, with each sign being a brilliant new move.
It all started when McDonald's dared to advertise a sale on its Egg McMuffin breakfast sandwich. Not to be outdone, Sav-Mor decided to offer a much better deal. Only, there was one very important detail - Sav-Mor's offer was not valid in the state of Massachusetts - where all their stores are located. Ha ha!
Unfortunately, McDonald's didn't immediately respond to Sav-Mor's marquee sign. However, Robbie Weiner, part-owner of the liquor store chain, had a "Big Mac" of an idea up his sleeve. In order to get some much needed attention, he posted this new sign, which loudly proclaimed Sav-Mor's celebrity crush.
Soon after, McDonald's responded in kind. It looked like a beautiful love-hate relationship was about to start between these two rivals. But, it was the fast food giant who was about to show Sav-Mor who was king.
Luckily, there was no Burger King nearby to contend with for that title.

Ouch, that sign just plain hurts! If you ever thought your boss was a clown, you're not alone. Ronald McDonald is probably drowning his sorrows in a Happy Meal right about now.
In response to Sav-Mor's painful jab, McDonald's hid a joke inside their clever retort. Who's winning the war of the words now, eh?
The fall season is known for pumpkin everything - lattes, pie, and yummy smelling candles. When Sav-Mor let the world know that they had a ton of pumpkin "crap" for sale, McDonald's quipped that their pumpkin stuff was a lot tastier. Agreed!
Although it's a sad fact of life, we live in a world that is full of lonely, passive-aggressive signs. Why do all the cool kids on the playground get to have all the fun? This Sav-Mor in Medford had absolutely no one to play with. Boo hoo!
Other nearby signs were totally jealous, too. But, instead of taking jabs at each other, they decided to start off with polite small talk. One "nugget" of wisdom you can always "bank" on is friendly rapport.
LOL, this made my day! :) These playful barbs are proof that the "faceless" people behind corporate businesses actually do have a face - and they're making funny faces when you least expect it!
