4 Teens See Man Carrying A Drunk Girl, They Follow Him And Have A Terrifying Revelation

Wrong as it might be to generalize a whole population, some of the adjectives that come to mind when we picture a skateboarder are, young, carefree, and a bit counter culture. None of these traits necessarily shout-out responsible, but based on an incident in Canada, it is a characteristic worthy of adding for at least one group of teen skater friends.
Arnaud Nimenya, James Hielema, Starlyn Rivas-Perez and Carsyn Wright were hanging out at an underground parkade in a shopping mall in Calgary, Canada, when they noticed a well-dressed man carrying a young girl over his shoulder. According to Carsyn:
"She was screaming and yelling. She just wanted to be out of there. She was all scuffed up and dirty."
The four also recalled the girl appearing to be a teenager and intoxicated. Sensing that something was clearly wrong, they approached the man and instantly started questioning him about what was going on.
The man, undeterred, simply claimed that he was trying to contact the girl's father so that she could get home. At this point, there was no way to refute what he had said. Carsyn added:
"You don't want to really think of the worst in somebody like that. You don't want that situation to be real, so you just brush it off and hope for the best."
The friends stepped aside and let the man slip away with the girl in a nearby stairwell. They rode off on their skateboards but couldn't quite shake off that feeling of something being wrong, and that's when they decided to follow the man and learn what he was doing.
Once they found him again, Arnaud, still shocked by what he saw, remembers seeing the girl bent over the stairwell as the man assaulted her:
"You walk in, and you see something like that, and you freeze. You don't know what to do."
Thankfully, the teens didn't stay frozen for too long. They instantly moved towards the man in an attempt to stop him in his act. The man seemed rather un-phased and unapologetic probably because of how young the four friends seemed. According to Arnaud:
"He was trying to walk out and walk away from us. He pushed me aggressively out of the way, kinda like just gives me the smile, like, 'I can do this. You can't do anything about it.'"
Oh, how he was mistaken! Three of the friends pursued him in a foot chase and eventually got into an altercation, which involved the man hitting them with one of the skateboards. One friend stayed behind with the girl to make sure she was okay.
The young men were successful in hanging on to the man until the police arrived and arrested him - later charging him with sexual assault. They walked away having saved the day and the life of a girl in a way they had never expected.
The Calgary police chief, Const. Roger Chaffin later decided that the friends should be recognized for their exceptional bravery at the annual Chief's Awards Gala. Funny enough, when he tried to contact them, Arnaud thought it was because they had tried to stop the man with physical force:
"We always thought we were going to be in trouble, because we fought with him. When they called us, we didn't wanna answer."
Arnaud, James, Starlyn, and Carsyn were among 25 other Calgarians receiving this award at the annual Gala for being outstanding citizens of the community who went above and beyond in their duties.
It is pretty scary to think of what would have happened to that young girl had these guys not been around. Worse still is to imagine that this man would have gotten away to carry on the crime again in the future. But thanks to the bravery of these teen skateboarders, all is well that ends well!
