Man Stumbles Upon Strange Object On Beach, He's Terrified When He Realizes What It Is

There are many things in this world that can strike terror into people's hearts. Slithering snakes and creepy-crawly spiders usually top the list of things to be afraid of.
If you haven't found your scary totem animal yet, then you'll be happy to know there are plenty of frightening things still lurking in the depths of our oceans, just waiting to scare the pants off of some unsuspecting swimmer.
What's even scarier is that a full 95% of our oceans still remain unexplored. That means "experts" don't really even know what could be hiding out there.
That's where this "thing" probably came from. A beachgoer only discovered it after a rogue storm dredged up the bottom of the Atlantic and deposited it onto a North Carolina beach.
When Denny Bland stumbled upon a strange object that had washed up on the shores of North Topsail Beach, he found out firsthand that nightmarish sea creatures are indeed very real.
Or, at least it "was" real before it died and left a very large part of itself behind.
It didn't look like much at first. He reached down and picked it up. He was puzzled by what it was first, but then he realized the truth.
He never thought he would find this. Do you know what it is?

Millions of years ago in our distant past, "monsters of the deep" really did exist! Back in the dinosaur days, the earth seemed to favor giant-sized everything. This favoritism wasn't just limited to land animals - even the sharks were super-sized!
At just 21-feet in length, today's great white sharks are mere tadpoles in comparison to the prehistoric megalodons that roamed our ancient waterways. In case you didn't know, megalodons were the largest sharks to have ever lived, and these 60-footers were the longest, too.
Here's some more food for thought - today's shark would happily consider your leg a tasty and satisfying meal. However, yesterday's megalodon could easily mistake your entire body for that annoying bit of food that tends to get stuck between your teeth.
Sorry to break it to you, but you would barely qualify as a snack to these prehistoric sea giants.
The size of megalodon's teeth prove just how big their mouths, and appetites, really were. Denny was lucky enough to find a perfect specimen at his local beach. The 6-inch long tooth he discovered came from an adult shark, and it's so large, it nearly overpowers his hand.
"I felt like I was a lottery winner or something. It's like I'm the first one to touch that since it fell out of his mouth back in the day."
Scientists aren't sure why these marine predators went extinct. If the food chain has anything to say about that, then perhaps something bigger and badder came along and ate them out of existence. Let's hope those guys are extinct, too.
Collecting old teeth is usually something that only tooth fairies do for fun. But, once you find out what a megalodon tooth can fetch on the open market, you'll probably wish that you had one of your own!
Believe it or not, there are quite a few megalodon-loving tooth fairies out there that will pay big bucks for your fossilized find.
Your childhood tooth fairy probably never shoved $895 underneath your pillow in exchange for your yucky front tooth. Yet, that's the going rate for a megalodon tooth. Now, that's something to dream about!
Oh the size of that tooth! Just thinking about gigantic prehistoric sea monsters is enough to give you goosebumps. Aren't you glad you were born after these humongous creatures went extinct?
