For 15 years, country music artist Darryl Worley has been blessed with 20 hit singles, three chart-topping hits with two of those he wrote himself. One of those songs spent seven weeks in the No. 1 spot.
But one thing he hadn't experienced was being arrested--until recently.
Local media captured Darryl being handcuffed by the authorities outside a local school in Tennessee.
Fortunately, it's not as serious as you may think it is. Yet, it's definitely been catching a lot of attention everywhere!
Darryl was participating in the school's year-end sleuthing scavenger hunt involving fifth and sixth graders. Called CSI: Case of the Missing Cupcakes, the students had to dig solve the mystery of who stole the class's cupcakes.
The students dug through evidence, evaluated the crime scene and weeded through the suspects, eliminating them until they came up with the culprit.
Eventually, the kids declared Darryl as the thief after they found a pair of cowboy boys, his fingerprints, hair samples, a paper with his song lyrics on it and a Darryl Worley guitar pick all at the crime scene.
Local police cuffed and stuffed the award-winning singer, but then released him so he could return to the classroom and hang out with the students for awhile. Darryl said he got a kick out of assisting with the project and helping the students learn how police get the job done.
The kids also absolutely loved having the country music artist participate. School officials and staff said Darryl was a great sport about the project.
Here's one of his songs recorded for our soldiers, a mission he holds close to his heart.
Darryl is no stranger to helping others. He created the Darryl Worley Cancer Treatment Center, is working on a wellness center for youth influenced by drugs and alcohol and visits U.S. troops serving overseas every year. He credits God for all that he's been able to do both professionally and to help others.
