Woman Sneaks Fake Baby Into Hospital Room. Even The Nurses Were Fooled By Her Stunt.

All of us have a rebellious side that peeks out every once in a while, but even the boldest of us know that there are some places where following rules is the only option.
Take for instance a hospital; a place where life and death decisions are made every day, so questioning the status quo might mean putting someone else in danger.
A 21-year-old woman in California however, decided to do just that and ignore a very important hospital rule while visiting her sick grandma. Her story is making the news and leaving many wondering whether what she did was out of compassion or was it just plane ignorant and dangerous.
Shelby Hennick is a 21-year-old veterinary technician living in California. Recently, her grandmother had to be hospitalized due to an adverse reaction to some medications. Her grandma had only been in the hospital for a few days, but Shelby was already busy concocting a plan - a plan that hopefully the nurses wouldn't figure out.
One of the things that grandma apparently missed the most was sight of her pet pup. The trouble with this request however, is that hospitals don't allow pets to visit patients unless they are service dogs. The rule is meant to be a way to protect the sick patients from any germs and infections that might be carried by the pets.
For Shelby though, there was nothing more important than wanting her grandma to feel better and loved. So she took grandma's pooch and carried him into the hospital wrapped as a baby sleeping on her shoulder. The dog was covered with a blanket, so from the outside there was no telling the difference!
So yes, grandma did get her wish answered, and Shelby felt pretty proud to have pulled off the stunt. And like all those who enjoy doing something a little rebellious, she could not help but brag about it through her twitter account, including pictures proving just how she did it.
Well, little did grandma and Shelby know that her tweet was going to go viral! After over 130,000 retweets and over 500,000 likes, it's hard to say whether the attention is because people are applauding her bravado, or because they are a little upset that she put her grandma's wish before thinking about how it might hurt other patients in critical care.
The over 2,000 comments however seem to favor Shelby's decision to break a rule to make her grandma feel better! Many even posted their own pictures of having pulled off similar antics.
The story has since been published on major news media outlets too. For Shelby, grandma, and the dog, their 15-minutes of fame is perhaps more of a shocker than anything else!
One could argue that being a veterinary technician herself, Shelby is not a total stranger to pets, germs, and hospitals. Perhaps, her call to take this chance was based on her knowledge that nothing bad would happen.
What it did prove without a doubt is that grandma couldn't have been happier. So in a way, all is well that ends well!
