One Patok villager captured the wolf and decided that, instead of releasing the wolf back into nature away from humans, that he would keep it in a tiny cage. As the days passed the wolf began to lose hope that he would ever roam free again.
Then the villager decided to partake in another unthinkable act.
Shortly after the wolf was placed in the metal cage, the villager took his donkey and placed it inside the crate. In the villager's mind, the old, weak donkey would be the perfect meal for the wolf and would keep him satisfied for weeks to come.
But, rather than attack the donkey, the wolf cozied up to it and the two became unlikely friends.
Word got out about the two animals trapped in captivity and people from all over the globe began to write into the Albanian government. Every letter pleaded with officials to release the animals and let them live out the remainder of their days in peace.
Sure enough, the overwhelming support from Albanians citizens and global strangers was enough to make a change. The government officials travelled to the villager's home and ordered the release of the wolf back into the wild and the donkey to a sprawling green pastures!
This is proof that, even in the worst conditions, one should never lose hope! Now people spot the wolf coming back to the pasture to visit his old friend, the donkey! It's clear they developed a bond that will never be broken.
