When Brianna Worthy found out she was pregnant, feelings of joy and excitement started to rush over her. Then that joy quickly brought on concern.
Brianna has a condition called "poliosis," which is where pigmentation is altered in patches of hair and the skin surrounding the area. As a fourth-generation Worthy with the poliosis, Brianna wondered if her daughter would be born with the same thing...
Even though it took time for Brianna to learn to love her patch, she told Daily Mail UK that, she hoped her daughter would too.
"I was hoping she did have it. My younger sister that my mother had a few years after me didn't get it, so I didn't know if MilliAnna was going to, but once I had her and they laid her on my chest and I saw she had it I was so happy..."
The moment little MilliAnna was born, Brianna looked down and saw that distinctive white patch of hair on the top of her little one's head - that was her baby girl!
Despite her worries, Brianna is ready to teach MilliAnna how to be proud of her white patch and rock it everyday!
"I plan to raise my daughter knowing she is beautiful and special and to not listen to people mean comments at times."
Children may tease her and others may not understand that the spot is an actual medical condition - but with the support of her family, MilliAnna will know just how beautiful she really is!
