Night Vision Camera Captures One In A Million Shot As Terrifying Flash Appears Behind Deer

Trail cameras are quite a handy tool for outdoor enthusiasts and hunters hoping to catch images of wildlife traipsing around on their property. Farmers and ranchers also use them to detect predators harming their livestock.
Oftentimes trail cam footage disappointingly reveals nothing. But other times they can capture a giant buck, a frightening wolf or this....
One trail cam video shared by Stealth Cam on Facebook reveals a magnificent buck. He pauses right in front of the camera to graze.
But it's what is happening behind the buck that people are marveling about. The deer calmly munches, glancing around him occasionally. The wind, though, is whipping all around him and can be heard on the audio.
In the background, a violent summer thunderstorm rages, full of wicked lightning and rolling thunder. At one point, the storm produces a lightning strike that brightens the entire night sky.
This buck happens to be quite lucky, because in southern Norway at an area popular among tourists and hikers for its breathtaking natural beauty, an entire herd of reindeer surpassing 300 head was killed during a similar scary storm.
The herd contained almost 100 calves that had to be put down because they were so horrifically injured in the storm. Scientists say that reindeer usually huddle together in groups during frightening weather as a survival measure.
But in this storm, the incredibly high discharge of electricity from the storm actually electrocuted the reindeer. Kjartan Knutsen with the Norwegian Environment Agency said no one in his country is aware of any other such occurrence happening there.
"Individual animals do from time to time get killed by lightning, and there are incidents where sheep have been killed in groups of 10 or even 20, but we have never seen anything like this."
In an effort to thin the herd, government officials were conducting a head count when the deer herd was found lying in a heaping pile. It was a startling sight.
An employee of the agency found the corpses while conducting a count in connection with the culling of the herd, through a controlled hunt. The only other similar such incident officials could recall was when almost 300 deer were buried and perished in an avalanche at a mountain peak in central Norway.
Now after learning about some other storm incidents, let's get back to the lone buck that was captured by the trail camera...
Watch for yourself this calm deer feeling unthreatened in the wild storm!
