Former President George W. Bush has helped pass sweeping legislation and met with heads of state. He has led peace talks, sent troops to war and led his country.
He served as governor of the state of Texas, attended Yale and was a successful businessman. He even served in the armed forces.
But despite his long list of political and career successes, there are two items that sit at the top of his list of greatest accomplishments. They also are among his greatest joys.
Former President George W. Bush confessed that his twin daughters are his greatest accomplishment. Jenna happened to be filming the Today show's New & Noteworthy segment when Al Roker and Shienelle Jones showed her a clip of her father's joint interview with former President Bill Clinton where he admitted this touching truth.
During that interview, when asked about what he thought was his greatest accomplishment, the former president named his two daughters. Jenna grew teary when she heard that.
He admitted that it's tough to raise teenage daughters while serving in the White House, but the girls turned out perfectly as far as Dad is concerned.
"Thanks to Laura's guidance and love, our little girls, our family unit is strengthened, and I think that is a great accomplishment."
As she was being filmed during this disclosure, Jenna was captured with a look of disbelief on her face. She looked at her co-stars and said, "That's what he said his greatest accomplishment was?"
Jenna had tears in her eyes and couldn't believe what she had heard. It meant even more to Jenna now that she's a mom, too.
She and her husband Henry Hager are parents to Mila and Poppy. Jenna knows firsthand the thrill of being a parent and what a big blessing children truly are.
What a touching tribute to his daughters former President George W. Bush confessed during the interview. How blessed Jenna and Barbara are, too!
