We all remember learning the heartbreaking news that Princess Diana had tragically perished in a car accident - news reports that stunned and devastated the entire world. Many people remember exactly where they were and what they were doing at that time.
Princess Diana's life was lost when the vehicle she was riding in lost control and crashed in a Paris tunnel. Diana's car was being chased by the paparazzi at the time of the accident, as photographers were all fighting for snapshots of the beloved princess.
And now, 20 years after the passing of his mother, Prince Harry is sharing his honest feelings about who's to blame for the accident. In an interview, Harry explained, "I think one of the hardest things to come to terms with is the fact that the people who chased her into the tunnel were the same people who were taking photographs of her while she was still dying in the backseat of the car."
"She'd had quite a severe head injury, but she was very much still alive in the backseat. And, those people that caused the accident, instead of helping, were taking pictures of her dying in the backseat..."
Harry (along with many others) feels strongly about the role that the paparazzi played in the car accident that led to his mother's passing. However, Diana's former bodyguard, Ken Wharfe, places some of the blame elsewhere.
In the following video, Prince Harry explains why he believes the princess' personal security team could have done more to protect her from the "gathering media circus." It's heart-wrenching to hear him speak about his mother's tragedy.
