Keepers Distract Panda Mom With Bamboo As They Snatch Baby, They Bring Him Back And Something's Different

Not only are pandas nature's cutest creations, but their babies can melt even the hardest of hearts. These animals are beloved all over the world for their striking black and white coats and delightful behavior, but that also means pandas have become the ultimate target for clever snatch-and-grab thieves.
At just three months old, twin babies Ling Ling and Quan Quan are doted on by their mama at a panda reserve in China. However, would-be "thieves" are keen on getting their hands on the little fluff-balls. Before mom can notice, the caretakers snatch up the little baby panda and take him outside. When they returned the baby to his mother, she had no idea something was very different.
Giant pandas give birth to twins up to 50 percent of the time, which means it's not all that uncommon to see a pair of adorable cubs pop out into the world. Unfortunately, panda moms also have the not-so-nice habit of favoring one twin over the other, which gives her favorite cub the best chance of survival.
Sadly, that leaves the other baby feeling pretty lonely. So, caretakers at Bifengxia Panda Reserve in China came up with a brilliant plan to ensure both twin cuties get as much time with mom as possible - through a mommy "timeshare" of sorts!
Each twin has their own schedule for alone time with mom, and they're swapped out every 5 days. In order to make the switch, the caretakers need to separate both mom and baby from each other, without causing any unnecessary drama and tears.
Clever staff at the panda reserve have come up with a brilliant plan to draw mom's attention away from her fluffy tater-tot kiddo. After tempting her with a super-sized serving of bamboo leaves, caretakers snatch a very chubby Quan Quan right out from under her nose!
Most moms would be distraught to find out their babies have been "switched at birth" but thankfully this panda mama is none the wiser. After taking Quan Quan to the nursery, it's Ling Ling's turn for some mommy play time. But, the team has to act fast, because munching on a bamboo bush can only woo mom for so long before she discovers that her lil' masked baby is missing!
